After boating in the Salzkammergut region, our group headed south into Slovenia for the famous Soca river.

A true explorer, Daniel has kayaked over 350 different sections of rivers, spanning 17 united states and 10 countries.

The Soca lived up to the hype with clear water and great scenery! Spending two days, we were able to paddle all the major sections of the Soca, along with a section on one of its tributaries, the Koritnica.

When we were planning the trip, we weren’t sure we would make it down here since it’s out of the way from the rest of the runs we were hoping to paddle. But the river is famous and well known for its scenery, and as we pushed off the beach for our first run, with mountains rising high around us, and crystal clear water below, we were glad we made the trip.

Two days later, we headed North again to the East Tirol region within Austria. This was a fantastic area full of great rivers and creeks. Some of the best boating of the trip was within this region. Though my favorites from East Tirol will be featured, this video still has some fun ones. And if you find yourself passing through, make sure to ride the Alpine Coaster in Lienz. That was surprisingly fun, and worth every penny!

See the video for the action that this phase of the trip included!
