The Kokatat Mission


Kokatat strives to make the best apparel and gear for paddling in the world. All of our products are developed by paddlers, for paddlers in our Arcata, CA facility. Our dry suits are individually tested and inspected for complete dry performance before they leave the factory. If it leaks as a result of something we’ve done, we’ll repair or replace it at no cost to you.

We encourage our customers to utilize our service facilities to maintain the top performance of your Kokatat products. Customer satisfaction is at the foundation of our business practices and we will always work to ensure that our products perform at the highest level as intended.

Repair Information


General Repairs


If you’ve managed to punch a hole in your suit, or wrestled with some brambles on the way to the put-in, at a reasonable cost we can diagnose and bring your suit back to complete dry performance in our Arcata, CA factory or European (UK) based repair facility, System X.

Utilizing the original production techniques, both these facilities are focused solely on restoring the waterproof performance of our garments. Factory Repair Service


We offer all repair services at our Arcata, CA factory. This generally takes 2-3 weeks plus shipping time. To get started, follow the directions below.

1. Select

To start your factory repair, go to our repair & maintenance page, and select all of the factory repair products your garment needs and add them to your cart.

2. Checkout

Once you have all repair services your garment(s) need in your cart, proceed to checkout. (During checkout you will prepay for return shipping.)

3. Write

Complete your purchase and you will receive a confirmation number on your confirmation email. Write the confirmation number on the outside of your box, and ship your Kokatat garment to:

4. Ship

Please ship your repair to Kokatat, Inc. within two (2) business days of receiving your order confirmation number. The repair will expire if we do not receive it at our Arcata, CA factory within ten (10) business days of its creation. We recommend using a shipping service that allows for parcel tracking and insurance.

Wash it

California State Law requires that all garments returned for repairs must be laundered. Please wash and allow your garment to dry before sending to Kokatat, Inc. for repairs. There will be a $25 charge for unwashed items. For front loading washers use a small amount of liquid detergent, cold wash setting and hang to dry. For washers with agitator use gentle cycle, a minimal amount of liquid laundry detergent, double rinse and hang to dry.

Enjoy

Once the repairs have been completed we will ship your garment back to you with your selected method of shipping and contact you with a tracking number for your package.

Gasket Repairs


The most common repair on a dry suit is a gasket replacement. If a gasket needs attention you have three options:

1. Kokatat can replace it for you using our factory repair service. We can only use our own gaskets, so please don’t send in any, especially other brands, please. Use our repair & maintenance page to start your factory repair service.
2. Have the store where you bought the gear or a regional repair facility do the repair. Feel free to take it into your local dealer or contact our customer support at (800) 225-9749 (U.S. only), 707.822.7621 (International), or contact form if you have any additional questions.

3. You can replace it yourself using one of our gasket replacement kits and repair instructions below.

The Kokatat Warranty


Warranty Policy


All Kokatat products are fully guaranteed to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship for the reasonable life of the item. Products found to be defective will be repaired or replaced at Kokatat’s option. Repairs due to normal wear and tear, accident, abuse, etc., will be made for a reasonable charge. Latex gaskets are not covered by the Kokatat warranty. There is a 2 year limited warranty on all TROPOS suits. Kokatat specifically disavows any other representative warranty or liability relative to the condition or use of the product.
