Miles has been paddling in Kokatat gear for a few years now and is absolutlely crushing the river SUP world. He is competing a major events around the country and isn’t just stomping tricks on the waves, he is inventing them. That’s right team, this little guy is a force to be reckoned with.
His stomping ground are Salida, CO where he can be found most days shredding the local play features on the Arkansas river. Though Miles is still “just a kid” he has grown up in an environment of river lifestlye and has a genuine respect and maturity about him that you don’t find in many kids his age. Miles certainly has a big bag of tricks when it comes to SUP surfing, his playgound isn’t limited to park and play river features, you can also find Miles surfing ocean waves, running rapids, and racing in SUP slalom courses around the country.
In colder water Miles trusts his Kokatat Icon Dry Suit and trusts the GORE-TEX® Pro material to keep him dry and loves the breathbility of the fabric, because surfing waves and river running on an SUP definitely gets his blood moving. The Kokatat SunCore Shirts have become favorite pieces of apparel for Miles both as layering pieces or even as his main layer when soaking in the sun.
We hope you get to meet Miles on the water someday, when you do you’ll understand what we mean about is contagious personality. Miles’ favorite thing about paddling is river surfing because it gives him the creativity to express himself and make up new tricks. Racing is fun, he says, because he likes competition and pushing himself, but he looks forward to traveling more and free paddling. He suspects river SUP will become more popular once people discover that standup is more than surf and flat water. Though he cannot predict where SUP is heading, he is excited to be at the forefront of the growing sport and lifestyle.
