As Colombia’s unquenchable thirst for natural resources continues it’s damage, the weight of eco-tourism has started to off-set the balance. The battle for the Samana is still going on and the dam construction has been delayed! The idea has been planted for the creation of a National Park instead of a reservoir and mine.

Now more than ever, it’s time to rally for the Samana. As the country’s unquenchable thirst for natural resources continues it’s damage, the weight of eco-tourism has started to off-set the balance. The battle for the Samana is still going and the dam construction has been delayed! The creation of a National Park instead of a reservoir and mine, is underway. So come have some fun, paddle some world-class whitewater, and support this amazing initiative!

This Year’s event will takes place January 5th-9th. The opening will take place in Medellin on the night of January 5th, and the participants will rally the ‘Chiva’ to the put in the next day. Once at the river, participants will enjoy meeting with the local community, traditional music and food.

The morning of January 7th, the convoy of kayaks & rafts will head down the canyon to enjoy a day full of fun whitewater. Then with nightfall comes the infamous ‘Jungle party’.

The next day, the group will rally to Narisses, where kayakers will have the option to race by duos the last big-water class V canyon. The prize for winning is nothing less than 1 million Colombian Pesos!

The closing party will take place at a nature reserve, and then return in Chiva!
