Ever feel like there’s not enough time in a week to do it all? With work, activities and family, sometimes it feels like it’s just too hard to load up your gear and get to the river.
If this resonates with you, then join Kokatat paddlers Emily Jackson, Mariann Saether and Natalie Anderson for a live stream interactive webinar series where they discuss how they balance family life and kayaking. After a presentation on their topic, Emily, Mariann and Natalie open up the floor to Q&A where you can discuss the subject more in depth. That means come prepared to the webinars with lots of questions and anything else you’d like to talk about with the presenters.
The family series begins May 19th with Emily Jackson and Finding Balance in a Busy Life. 3x Freestyle World Champion, Emily has a lot on her plate- she’s a professional athlete, works full time, runs ultra marathons, homeschools her kids and more. While it seems like a lot, she’s based her life off a model of living “uncompromised” basically ensuring that she doesn’t bend on the things that are most important to her. This style of organizing her life allows for the feeling of balance that allows her to thrive. While everyones has their ups and downs, this approach to life has granted her to feel a sense of progression that she wants to share with you.
Next in the series, Mariann Saether tackles the subject of Pregnancy and Kayaking: Part I on June 4th. World Champion kayaker and current Queen of the North Fork, Mariann discusses what to expect when you’re expecting…as a paddler. She’ll chat about the physical and mental aspects of being pregnant and and kayaking, as well as what to anticipate from yourself and from others and how to get back in your boat.
In Pregnancy and Kayaking: Part II, competitive steep creeker, big wave freestyle powerhouse, scientist and business owner, Natalie Anderson talks about paddling after pregnancy. She’ll chat about getting back in your boat postpartum and reincorporating kayaking into your life with babies and kids.
