Failure to plan is planning to fail.

Jordan grew up on the West Coast of New Zealand, a real hot spot for remote class V kayaking. Though he didn’t start paddling until he was 18, he did have the benefit of learning under Bruce Barnes who is one of New Zealand’s most accomplished expedition kayaker and outdoors-man. Through university Jordan developed his skills and passion for the sport, alongside fellow Kokatat ambassadors Barny Young and Ari Walker. Plans were hatched for oversea expeditions, leading to expeditions in Papua New Guinea and Brazil as well as seeking out first descents in North America, Norway and in his own backyard on the West Coast of NZ.

Jordan recently led a North Face Expedition to paddle the first descent of the Karangarua River (NZ) and was Team Leader for a BBC Filming Project in Papua. He spends a few months each year touring North America and is always working towards the next mission.

His goals include a first descent in every continent - with only Africa and Antarctica left, to be successful in life outside of kayaking, and not to get married before Barny.
