“Credit no thought not born in the open air and while moving freely about” - Nietzsche

Lane first started paddling in 1994 with his dad in the Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas. His first international multi-day river trip was in 2000 on the Karnali River in Nepal. It was such an impactful experience that it forever changed his life vision. Since then, Lane has completed over 30 first descents in countries around the world. His passion continues to search for the next best creek or river, where ever it may exist.

Lane works as an RN in the ER at Columbia River Gorge, where he calls home. Living a stone’s throw from the White Salmon River allows Lane to keep his skills sharp and train up for that next big river expedition.

Lane’s goal is to increase awareness of canyons and rivers throughout the world in order to preserve them for future generations.
