“If I don’t have it, its because I do not need it." - Violeta Parra
Pedro was born in El Cajon del Maipo, a beautiful canyon formed by the most important river in Chile. The river has always had a strong influence on Pedro. Hours, days, weeks, months and years he has spent on every corner, every inch of the clear beautiful water in Chile, and many other countries. Fulfilling his hunger for freedom, to look at wild nature, a place where there is no deception or resentment, a place where your relationship with life is unique and pure. If it gets cold you cover yourself, if you get hungry you eat. The river has been the path that drew his life.
Many years of practicing along with his cousins and brothers, led them to worldwide rafting competitions, winning several medals including gold. He spent many years working in Chili as a raft guide, but kayaking has become his way of life - a passion and an eternal journey, that shows a river from a perspective that only a few know. It can take you to places that no one else can gain access because when you run a rapid, or jump from a cascade, you are sailing through life, jumping through any love and pain that comes into the path. That way of living, wondering downstream, gives him a deep level of calm and happiness that he wants to share with others.
Pedro loves the life that he was meant to live and that he seeks every day. The awesome life that a kayaker enjoys, traveling only with the essentials, being on the river, under the clouds, rain or sun, where the only limits you have are the ones that you impose yourself.
