Best Dry Suite for the Money!

Posted by John on Mar 26th 2022

My daughter and I Kayak year-round in the mid-Atlantic region and this suit makes it possible, all in comfort, safety, and style! We reviewed a lot of suits and I think this is the best one out there for fit, material, durability, function, and price. I figured if Kokatat is good enough for Dane Jackson, then we owe it to ourselves to check it out. We've tested these by hopping into 40 deg (F) water and they do exactly what they need to do, keep you dry and protected. (Obviously having proper base-layers as needed for thermal protection.) When in warmer weather (but with cold water conditions) these suits remain comfortable, and seam to breath amazingly well. We are so happy to have these to extend our kayaking into a year-round sport!

Comfortable, Dry and Stylish (if that's your thing)

I'm a tall (6'3") and pretty skinny guy (170 lbs), so I wasn't too sure if the XL would be a little too big or in worse case, too small. Honestly, the fit is perfect. It can easily put someone larger in it but it looks and feels great even though I am on the slender side of the spectrum. The product seems to be constructed with a high level quality and attention to detail. Before doing the review, I wanted to make sure that I tested it in the water (as I see so many people do reviews of dry suits before even giving it the water test). This suit holds up super nicely in the water. Absolutely bone dry after flipping 100 plus times in this. The gaskets are nice and tight, ensuring that the water does not come in. The neck gasket is a little on the tighter end but I think that is important so that we, the customer, has the option to stretch it to their respective neck sizes. After a few uses, the neck gasket is getting right where it should be. Overall, super sweet, comfortable, and good looking dry suit that I cannot wait to put on because it means that I'll be kayaking in comfort.
